In my opinion, Ritter stands alone on finishes. I remember looking at them 20 years ago, drooling and dreaming, certain I could never afford one.

Now that I can, I'd still be afraid to touch it. I'm very clumsy and oblivious of my surroundings when playing. I drop, dent, ding and spill on my basses. I hit stuff in the studio. I play poopie dive bars and clubs. I don't mind blemishes -- maybe even appreciate one i did that has a story.

I would cry every single time I touched anything on a Ritter that wasn't strings, neck, tuners or knobs.

They are absolutely too good for me.
