Great call on Colin Moulding - "Mayor of Simpleton" is killer.
Another great call on Nick Beggs (I couldn't remember his name, but, that bass line in "Too Shy" was also killer).
Michael Mills needs to be mentioned.
PS - strange how there seems to be a strong correlation between peeps who grew up as 80's metal heads (myself included) and secretly jammed to the pop stuff, too...
There was also some guy who played with Peter Gabriel. Can't recall his name, but I think he was a pretty good bassist too.
I think Trevor Horn and his Fairlight have to take credit for those two!So a nod to Curt Smith, Nick Beggs and the great Mark O Toole for giving us Relax and Two Tribes!!!

I'm joking, of course. The Gabriel, Crimson, BLUE, and solo CDs piled high on my CD shelves, the Stick Men downloads on my PC, and the Behind the Bass Clef book on my shelf all attest that I actually know the name of that fellow.
I admit he didn't come to mind at first, but Gabriel probably fits the category, albeit at the cutting edge of it.
My bad: look at my post above. I was busting on myself - came across poorly.
I wondered about that, but just wanted to CMA in case anyone started to think I was the bass village idiot.![]()
I don't know the name of the bassist or the band, but the song is called " These are the good times." I think. I always thought that was a very cool bass line.
