I have already been banned from doing any of my originals in at least two wineries.:p

I agree that making fine scale decisions on a cab build would be chancy if based on a few random sound clips. But if there were hundreds I think we could all eventually agree on which were instructive.

Yes, I would agree that if there were that many clips, it would take some of the subjectivity out of it and we could come to some kind of general consensus about their tonal ability. Especially if there were a wide variety of tones on display so as not to pigeonhole the fEARful design as being too "sterile" or "hi-fi", or whatever limited descriptor one is want to use.

As to your originals, perhaps they just didn't drink enough wine!

Is that a 15/6 Tube under a standard 12/6? The mids look to be a bit further apart than recommended.

I think the 12/6 Cube mates to a standard 15/6 with regards to mid driver alignment when stacked.

Regardless...Enjoy the heck out of those cabs! :hyper:

Yes Sundogue, everything was built to spec. As for the mids, I doubt I'll ever need to use the 2 cabinets together. I just stacked them to take the pic. I'm mainly going to use the 12/6, and keep the 15/6tube for the larger gigs.

Yep. I did the slide clip just because someone called the mids "polite." They can be, but...;)

There are still plenty of other wineries out here where the staff and the audience will meow along, or I can get all Gangsta on "Autumn Leaves." Life is good...

I contacted Zack Brock at Wavepulse Acoustics, and along with being a fellow bass player, he is building fEarfuls at a very competitive price. He also breaks in the cab once he has built it, and checks for buzzes, rattles, etc., by actually playing his bass through it. I decided, if I'm ever going to try a true, Greenboy fEarful, it might as well be now before the neo's get too crazy in price. What sealed it for me was , he offered me free shipping. Don't know if that is the norm for him, but I thought it was a nice gesture. So, a 15/6/1 fEarful is in the works for me. His quoted price is also good, even if neos shootup in price. Build time is normally 2 weeks, but could be as much as 4 weeks. Big improvement there over LDS , which can be 2+ months, sometimes longer, as Don is a one man show.

I'm anxious to try this cab out, as it is the last style of cab I have'nt tried in the last 5 years of trying different cab configs, both commercial and boutique types, along with new, lightweight bass heads. So far, my LDS 212/horn cab, ( 3012ho's with 18Sound XD125 horn ) is ringing my chimes, but I would like something a little more portable for my Blues band gigs. We shall see.

Just curious. A lot of people are already confused with the variants and how they work together.
