Any more photos of the green baffle with the black grill?

I'm getting close to a finished 12/6 and am debating the merits of painting the baffle some color other than the black that the rest of the cab will be done in, but it's hard to get a real good idea of what the finished product will look like. I photo shopped a couple of mock ups. In the orange one, I was going for a fluorescent color, but it's hard to get the effect.

I too had a problem with going "green". Being a Packer fan I didn't want it to look like Packer green anymore than "tractor" green, so I sponge painted it with blue and green to give it a pseudo texture and tone the pure green down.

Following pic isn't to take away anything from your build or paint job...just showing it for comparison's sake (to show how using two colors can tone it down a bit)...As you can tell, I like green too...

It's really inspiring to see what an experienced painter can come up with. The flame thing you did on that cello or bass fiddle or whatever was way cool.

My artistic/painting skills rank even lower than my carpentry skills. Hence, the monochrome paint job. I did experiment with some two-tone schemes but gave up.

Oh, and as for the green: In my case it's an "ohmage" to the designer.

If I remember right I think you play a GK 1001RB-II. Have you cranked it up with both 12/6's yet? I imagine that's really damn loud if you have. Let us know your thoughts about your fEarful-GK set-up.

Nice job wcriley. I just saw in another thread (2x112) that you have a pair of these 12/6. I'm considering a similar configuration and wondered how you liked the sound of that stack. Have you tried this stack with cabs oriented both ways (long dimension vertical vs horizontal but like size drivers vertically aligned)? If so, which way sounded better? Thanks...

My band is on hiatus, so I haven't had a chance to play the G-K through both cabs at war volume.

Obviously I'm pleased with the sound of the cabs, or I wouldn't have built the second. I'm happy with the G-K head pushing them, but have nothing else to really compare it to.

I've thought about stacking them horizontally rather than vertically. Problem is: I put the strap handles on the mid driver side, so I'd need a spacer of some sort to keep the top cab from rocking. Based on my experience with the dispersion characteristics of my 1st 12/6, I doubt there's be much difference in sound. The mid drivers would be a little lower in that configuration, but I doubt you'd notice any difference unless you're standing directly over the cabs.

Yes, from leftover 1/2" ply from my 110/6 cabs build. Just a four sided box which took me about ten minutes to cut and put together. Same paint scheme as all my cabs.

It latches either to my 110/6 cabs, my fEARful 15/6 or all together on the rare outdoor gig when I may need to use it all. [NOTE to self: Need to build a fEARful 15 Sub]...

Just add some rubber feet to the side. That way they can be used in both orientations.

Yep. Thought of that.
Rubber feet on the side for horizontal stacking.
Rubber feet on the top for vertical stacing.
Rubber feet on the bottom for stand alone use.

Maybe I should buy stock in Penn Elcom.
