fEARful cabs....whats the deal???

FWIW I have a 66 and a Mesa 400+ [about 275 clean watts] and I have moved on to more power - cause the Mesa can't stay clean and get anywhere near what the cab can do.

That said - a 15/6 or F115 plugged in the proper speaker tap will let let you access everything your 200 watt Mesa has got - if that's enough, the cab won't hold you back.

If you measure at 60 Hz instead of 1k Hz then probably - its true versus any 4x10 I ever used - but to be fair I play bass not mid - so YMMV. :hyper:

Besides... who cares about watt efficiency anymore - watts are cheap - and twiddlin' EQ knobs is free - but it don't do you much good if your cab can't handle it.

IMHO, you will never regret getting a fEARful. I will, however, throw a wet blanket on your plans to find a used one. There really aren't that many fEARful's out there - probably only a thousand or so - and no one I know would consider selling unless they are upgrading. My 15/6 is never going up for sale, even if I do upgrade.

If you are at all handy and own a few basic tools, but you don't want to go to all the work of cutting and fitting the wood, the best option is to buy a cutkit from Speaker Hardware:

The 15/6 flat pack deluxe kit is currently selling for $640. That includes everything you will need except the grille and the finish. I would recommend spending just a few dollars more to have the crossover assembled and for some handles. Mine took about a week of evenings + a weekend to build. Most of that was for the glue, paint and finish drying times in between assembly steps. And Leland Crooks is the best guy on the face of this planet to deal with. IMHO
