Finishing up a 12/6cube tonight. Amazing for it's size...add a 12sub and you can do any size gig. Stack it on a 15/6 and it gets really serious :)

I have a 15/6, a 15sub and now the 12/6cube in matching grill cloth. Any two of those cabs together us killer.

That being said, for my main, loud rock band, I'll be rocking the Fearless215 :)

Tom,

You're welcome to use that photo (the faux-ostrich 12/6), or I can take/send higher-resolution photos.

If it's not too late, of course. Been pretty busy lately, and haven't been checking in on things.

Bradley

Thank you, but unfortunately, it's too late. The issue went to the printer last Monday.

Tolex is easier than it looks. I've done four cabs with only web tutorials at my side. One think I've found is if you use actual Tolex adhesive, there are some particulars. By itself, it is not sticky. Each side must be coated and allowed to dry thoroughly. The wood usually dries first, 20~30 minutes. The Tolex side can take anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours depending on how thick it was applied (the thinner the better) and the relative humidity of your work area. If you touch it and it is still wet like spilled milk, or rubs off, it is not ready. The bond is only created when both fully dry sides are mated together. It bonds instantly, but you can pull it up slowly and reposition if necessary.

Not the exact same amp and cab, but I've been running a G-K 1001RB-II through one or two 12/6 (Alpha) cabs for a couple years. Works fine for my purposes.

The 800RB's high pass filter is a bit higher, so you won't get as much of the extreme low end a fEARful can reproduce.
The bi-amp feature on the 800RB should be very usable with a fEARful. Use the amp's crossover between the woofer and mid, then use the cab's passive crossover between the mid and tweet.

Well I'm fully engulfed in my in my 29 year old mid mid life crisis (expecting quintuplets in a few months). I've sold my 15/6 to a great TBer. I'm not all that sad about it. It's awesome but the 15/6/1 I still have is MORE than enough to get me through any gigs I have. The space is SO needed and I was hauling around the 15/6 when not needed just to feel more like a man on stage. Ha. But now I'm going through my amp crisis.

I love my Mesa Bass 400+ but a 30 years old all tube power amp.....I just need something reliable. We can afford the money now but I need something that won't hit me with surprise upkeep costs. I also play WAY aggressive live and found the tone a bit harsh on our recordings.....I think I might go back to solid state for the ease of it. Really wish the Baer Valkyrie was out....kinda thinking Glock.....hrrrrrrrmmmmm.....

Peavey IPR 1600 and your choice of pre amp. Gives you the versatility of changing your mind due to tonal goals down the road. I have been digging my ART but I would love to take an SVP, Aguilar, Monique, Kern, or any number of really cool pre-amps for a spin. The nice thing is you can sort the power section out, and then start to worry about a Pre as your tonal goals change.

I find myself using my GK Fusion 550 more often than my Mesa 400 lately, into my 1212/6. I have to drop the bass & treble EQ quite a lot, to fit the fEarful's huge low end & crisp highs. If you like the Mesa tube sound, you might like the GK.
