Great photos too.

Rarely do I play with provided backline these days. If offered, I usually still prefer to bring my stuff. I've come so attached to my fEARfuls and my amp.

Last night was a rarity, and we were doing a short set at a local theater/music venue that's good for probably 3-500 people and is an old theater that's become a full time concert venue.

I showed up and there was an Ampeg 810 and a Hartke HA4000 (that was a bit weird, never played the 4000 and the controls were a bit opaque to me).

Man did I miss my fEARfuls. It was loud enough for me to hear myself (not really as loud as I like) and I had to play that old game of balancing volume and low end so as not to have the speakers complain. Luckily I was DI'd in the house and that sounded great.

I had forgotten that balancing act of trying to get volume and lows and keep definition, etc.

The plan of action it would seem to me.. find out who's providing backline to these kind of gigs and convince them a 1515/66/1 is way superior to an 810.. Enough of that happens, there'll be many more happy bass players (and possibly soundmen)..

If every venue had a fEARful backline, the resulting seismic acitivity would cause global catastrophe. Southern Cali would sink into the ocean.;)

True, and normally I offer up my rig and benefit from using it. This time we were a bit 'outsider' for the gig and I didn't know many of the other bands or players... I also knew doors were @ 7pm...we hit at 11.30pm, and the show continued past 2am with a few hours of organized 'jam'. None of that was making me want to bring it, risk abuse AND turn it into a 7 hour hang.

Man you guys are really making me want a Fearful... my GK NEO 115s are great with my Streamliner & I have ABSOLUTELY no complaints with em but they do naturally lack some low end. Just not voiced for going super low. Sound great with the band though

Whew, it fit in a Yaris without coming out of the box. Ron's packing job was superb: box, masonite panels, ~1" styrofoam sheets, 2 layers of plastic film. Approx. 36lbs of packaging and 47 lbs of cabinet!

Pics of new GreenBoy fEARful 15/6/1 tomorrow. So far...this cabinet is just great. Jam tonight. Irie!

Good luck Jim! Things will never be the same again. :)

Purely my personal opinion, but the 12/6 cabs are the epitome of Greenboy's designs.
Small, light, loud, and great sounding.
I've been putting one to work for 2 years now, and a second one for well over a year.

Currently being gussied up a bit:
