fEARLESS F210

Duke I don't feel that anything you said is wrong. Citing examples is certainly welcome and appreciated. The claim you are disputing was made a LONG time ago in post 14, in February. Now 150 posts later your going to step in and pick nits?
I'm sure you have good intentions but could some of these comments are guys just in love with their purchases? These types of things get said in all sorts of threads all over Talkbass if we are going to start correcting them there will be much work to do.

Thanks for the olive branch. Peace to you too, man. You have impeccable taste in bass cabs, and in Kool-aid!!

And I have questionable taste in what's worth protesting about.

[ahem, cough -]

I go to bed, wake up, and the thread has doubled in size. Jeeze!

Look - the F210 gets loud. VERY loud. I'm putting 900 watts into it with a Tecamp Puma 900. Turn the dials up and I'm gasping for breath. Even with earplugs, the bass slams into me, knocks me over, and blows the cats out the door. At that level of volume you've entered a zone where many of the tonal nuances we endlessly debate are beyond hearing. We've turned our cab into a weapon of mass destruction where the shear noise level decimates discerning nuances. It now excels at drowning out the guitard.

I used to gig an Eden 410. The F210 seems to get just as loud. Louder? Can't remember. Don't care.

Putting this into perspective, the Eden 410 weighed 100 pounds and was a total PITA to move around.

The F210 weighs 46 pounds. I can practically one-hand it, but I'm older now (and wiser) so I crouch down, and lift it with two hands and my legs. Stick it on my fold-a-cart and it's a cinch to pull up or down stairs.

The F210 has a much smaller footprint than a 410. Fits on a small stage. Holds my amp higher in the air so it's easier to make adjustments than with the squat cube of a standard 410.

The F210 sounds better than any 410 I've played or heard.

Yada yada.

OK, back to practicing. Carry on.

This is a random example, but what the heck :)

Like Ukiah, I've played tons of 410's and wouldn't trade any of the for an F210 for a lot of reasons, tone being the main one.

In Nashville , I do a ton of gigs with no sound check. You carry your gear straight to the stage, set up, play, tear down and load out and go to the next gig. The narrow profile makes it easier to load in through a crowded room and the size and weight is crazy good for the performance level it achieves.

Something at least as important as perceived loudness is clarity. Not only do my FEARLESS cabs go deeper (to my ears) than other cabs I've owned, but the clarity is so much better, I just don't struggle to hear myself clearly in the band mix. :)

oh damn it ... now I want one ! where do I order

I will say that I have been using 2 of the GK MBE II 2x10 stacked.... at 33lbs each ... an easy one hand carry and rated at 800 at 4ohm for the pair with an 800w gk head.

I reckon the fearless will blow its socks off yes ? no ?

That's really subjective stuff. I know what I'd prefer, but that's me :) I do believe you'd gain many advantages, sonically, and only carry a single 50 (ish) pound cab into the gig instead of two 33lb cabs

LMFAO / +1!!!
This is why I ordered one. The last two pages = TMI - it depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is - seriously?

Smoking F210 with Jules/Demeter Minnie Rig...GLORIOUS INDEED! And YES!! the MONIQUE with the Demeter all tube 300 and F115 is my ultimate all tube tone!

I ran into JHAWK at NAMM. He had an F210 on display in his booth - or the booth he was sharing, can't remember which at this point - I was instantly sold by the articulation of that cab whilst it being used in conjunction with a Monique and a rack mount power amp.
I am fortunate enough to live about 40 miles from him and will be paying him a visit shortly so I can compare his on-hand cabs using my own head(s) and basses ... but I really think I'm going to start with an F210 and eventually progress to a 2nd one so I can run in stereo :-)

Has anyone run a guitar through one of these?
I'm wondering if it is usable or if I should get the thought out of my head and just buy a different setup for my Jazzmaster.

I have never played guitar throuhg a F210.

That said my dad loves guitar through my fEARful cabs. I could see this working very well for guitar, if you like the sound of your amp through a very clear cab.

The cab you saw at NAMM was built for me and I posted it here - not sure why the post was deleted - and the pics were deleted from my photbucket album - what the heck?
