Fed ex sucks!!!

So ya order something online. You wait all damn day for the fed ex driver to show up. 5 o'clock in the afternoon you check the status and it says "customer unavailable".
Bull freaking crap. I've been home since 7am. This morning. This is an every time thing with fed ex here. They suck

Though I've seen UPS and USPS pull that trick too. Late in the day, running behind, they don't even attempt delivery, they just throw the tag in the mailbox...

Always pick up your package from their office when possible.
It has saved me a lot of trouble doing it that way.

All companies have a second line for street address input which for most of us, doesn't get used.

I have them input "Please knock loudly".

It's never failed to get a delivery person to pound on my door to get my attention.

I'm also not a fan of fedex. Ups and usps are great, at least in my area. It comes down to the employees in your area I would suppose.

CVL drums, from Italy,couldn't set their booth up at NAMM this year because FedEx lost ALL their gear somewhere in Paris. We're talking about a LOT of big boxes worth thousands of euros of drums. Not a single one got there.

Correcting myself: they set it up, only because they had some "friends in the neighborhood" who were abile to provide them some stuff from their stores. But none of the original gear sent and intended to be put on display ever got there.

Yeah I have done that on the past. And then I received a few things via ups and usps no problems at all. If the same crap happens tomorrow I'll just tell them to leave it at the fed ex store since they can't do their job

UPS is worse. Had to call their 800 number when they clearpc hadn't knocked. Zero customer service. Rude. Waited a whole weekend plus a Monday holiday just because UPS man didn't knock.

Yeah, I have had that "customer unavailable" crap happen to me too. I have started having all my Sweetwater stuff shipped to the local fedex store and I just pick it up.

It's all about how the employees conduct themselves. I've had a USPS worker throw a boxed cylinder head onto a bunch of other packages in the office. She refused to hand it back to me, it was "already in the system!?" FedEx has thrown packages onto my neighbors porch from 10-15ft away, multiple times. I've not had many issues with UPS but we've all seen the videos.

For the last several years, anything like hi-fi gear, bass gear, big things, I get delivered and held at the FedEx Print Center near me. Most people have one in a strip mall within a few miles. Just like Starbucks and Taco Bell.

Makes my life much more manageable.

With regard to FedEx, Ground/Home, delivery is made by contractors. Contractors bid on areas of delivery and then hire their own employees. They are not employees of FedEx. I think that's the main reason I find their performance to be middling at best. Now, FedEx Express service is a different story. That is run by FedEx and I seldom hear complaints about overnight service.

Sorry to hear of your difficulty.

FedEx works great for me. Love them. I can specify delivery to a FedEx Office location so I don't have to worry about missing the driver or having packages left at my door. UPS holds only at regional facilities, which are usually in far away industrial areas. USPS will not hold for pickup.
