Fed ex sucks!!!

The vast majority of times I have had problems with FedEx I came to find out later it was actually USPS. Around here USPS delivers a lot of FedEx ground stuff.

Once my wife really needed a package the day before we left for vacation. Her tracking said "delivered" but it wasn't there. Wife called the post office raising heck. Guy said "Hang on a sec". She could hear him calling the route driver on speaker phone in his office. Her response was "Tell her she'll get it tomorrow. I was running late so I just shot through the last twenty or so to keep our numbers good." He demanded that she turn around and deliver our package. By the time she got to our house the knocked and apologized. She must have gotten a pretty good verbal smack down.

I have never had an issue with FedEx Express that I can recall.

Up here, we are OK with FedEx, and all the various postal systems, including EMS. DHL is quite alright too!

However... we would strongly prefer that UPS never sully our doors again

Yeah ... I've been hanging around all day because FedEx tracking insisted that my package would be delivered today ... finally 10 minutes before 5pm it changed to say they don't know when it will be delivered. (turns out it's still in Sparks, Nevada and I'm in the Bay Area N. California - guess there is snow at the summit and they're waiting in Sparks indefinitely?) Seems like they should have known long before 5pm that it wasn't going to be delivered today since it's not even in the state yet. I get that the weather can be bad but why couldn't they have updated their tracking info so I didn't hang around waiting for delivery?

FedEx used to be the premium shipper - it was much better than UPS etc. in the old days. Not sure when it got to be so lame.

Put me down as a fedex hater. I had to get my last bass delivered to a WalMart after the driver kept marking the shipment as 'Customer Not Available.' I work from home...

One of the days, I saw that the timing of the message was 2:45. I was on the phone with customer service by 2:55 from my office which is right by the front door, where I had been all day.

If the driver doesn't put a tag on your door saying they will attempt re-delivery, you can take that as meaning they didn't even slow down as they drove past the house.

I had two fedex ground packages to be delivered. One was 500 miles away, the other 60. Delivery dates, Friday for the one 50 miles away) and Saturday for the other. I took a day off from work to accept the Friday package. At 3 pm the deliver date changed to Monday, . I needed it to repair a speaker for a customer for use on Saturday night. I called fedex and asked why they both couldn't be delivered saturday, they gave an explanation (longer than this post) as to why it would have to be delivered Monday. I asked if they could pull the part and I'd come in Saturday to pick it up. They said that was fine.

Drove 20 miles to pick it up... it wasn't there. The thing I didn't need was out for delivery, they called the driver and he said he was 15 minutes from my house, and so was the part I'd asked them to hold that I was told wouldn't be there till Monday. The part I needed required a signature. They opted to contact the driver again and tell them to leave it on the steps...

Not sure how irritated I should be...

I always leave a big sign on the door that says "FEDEX/UPS/USPS I am home!!!"

I have had that happen with other companies, never FedEX.

I would have called them and politely explained that you were available and their failure to deliver was no fault of yours. Then say that the delivery is time sensitive and ask them if they driver can come back today. Just to be sure, verify the delivery address with them.

At least Fedex doesn't destroy packages. I shipped a P bass neck via USPS and they completely thrashed it, they denied my appeal and I lost $150 on it. Never again, I shipped a Shecter bass via Fedex last Friday and the buyer got it yesterday in undamaged condition. Behold USPS's handy work.

Trying living with Canada Post.
They will keep the package day it's due then following day leave a notice.
My son ordered a laptop and they delivered it to the right address but in a different city and it took almost a month to get money back and yet still no laptop .

I did exactly that. fedex cust service told me they have no way to contact the drivers. Which may or may not be true with the contractor drivers, I don't know.

I really think it depends on the individual driver.. I was waiting on a delivery on a beautiful day .. no delivery exceptions.
It was getting very late and I took a spin through my neighborhood. I found the FedEx truck...driver was lounging in his truck on his phone. He had my package and was planning on delivering it the next day.
Aside from this I’ve had good success with the different carriers..

So ya order something online. You wait all damn day for the fed ex driver to show up. 5 o’clock in the afternoon you check the status and it says “customer unavailable”.
Bull freaking crap. I’ve been home since 7am. This morning. This is an every time thing with fed ex here. They suck
Whenever I buy a bass, especially a lesser expensive one I insist on anybody but FedEx because they require a signature, which is ridiculous..And I also insist on not requiring a signature anyway, but I also live in a safe subdivision and nobody will steal it and if they do, I have a front door camera. Twice in the past I had the same thing happened to me and I called them fuming stating that I was home all day. Ever since then, I have requested the seller to ship to the FedEx pickup center and go there at my convenience..
