Fed up with FedEx tracking!

This has been my experience with FedEx over the past year.

1 bass at my local station out for delivery. Watched it go 2 states away. Supposedly it never made it on my local truck. Arrived 4 days later busted and broken.

Sent bass back to store, same thing. Arrives 2 days late.

Replacement bass arrived 3 days late after being told it was out for delivery and driver shows up and says… I’m supposed to have a box for you but I can’t find it on my truck. The other express driver must be bringing it later today . I’m sure he has it. I’ll call him.
2 days later still no bass even though tracking says out for delivery arriving by 2pm . Signature required for delivery. I’m sitting in my house all weekend. I call and FedEx tells me it will come Tuesday . I told the lady on the phone that computer shows out for delivery . She tells me on her side it says Tuesday delivery go ahead and leave my house because it’s not coming today.
10 minutes later it shows up.

3 items purchased and shipped simultaneously as gifts shipped directly to my friends . We were supposed to go a zoom reveal . All scheduled to arrive the same day. None arrived on time. One friend had to hunt hers down in the apartment complex. Mine arrived 2 days later. The other 3 days late.

Another box shows up with a huge hole like they wanted to see what was inside.

I’m done with FedEx !!!!
A fed ex delivery in todays world is definitely some anxiety inducing event. Especially if your expecting a new bass or amp. I know this time of year is busy but this is probably a big time for inside job thefts too. I’m sure the actual walk in music stores have nightmare stories they could tell us as well with Fed ex deliveries

It's funny how the competence of the shipping companies varies from region to region.

We avoid UPS like the plague around here. Fedex serves us well...
Yup, but mine's flip-flopped over here...UPS is who you want shipping your package, however they charge a boatload compared to the others. FedEx store is also a place where you shouldn't go if you're in a hurry. I'm reminded of the PopCopy skit from Chappelle's Show every time I head there lol.

In my area UPS is the most reliable. FedEx has been a little less reliable, and they seem to like ignoring any signature requirements. Last year my new Stingray Special was left leaning against the garage door without any notification despite requiring a signature. Same thing with several new laptops recently. Kind of defeats the supposed security of signing for it if the FedEx driver can just mark it signed. But USPS is faaaaaar worse. Every time I order something and see a USPS tracking number, I cringe and lower my expectations significantly.

Anytime I order gear from Sweetwater they always send it Fed Ex unless it's a real small package (UPS then) so I make sure it's sent for pickup to a Fed Ex store since they are the ONLY company that I've had packages stolen BY THE DELIVERY DRIVERS and that's is a no brainer as to why it happens. They contract a TON of their delivery and it's obvious when you see over half of your fed ex packages delivered by people not in a Fed Ex uniform.

Sending it to a store might not improve the tracking, but you won't be crawling up a wall worrying about porch pirates or poopy contracted out delivery drivers.

I got notices:(within the last 2weeks)
Signature required.

Expected delivery Friday(a week away for a 5 day residential delivery ) the next day after that notice: Saturday : Scheduled Delivery Monday by end of day.
3 pm Monday: scheduled Delivery Tuesday Between 11-2 , at 12, Tuesday by end of Day.
9pm Tuesday: no update!?
Call and have it held.
Pick it up (1 hour and 40 miles away)

Signature required: they think I’m going to sit and wait a full week with these “scheduled “ delivery notices, and then miss it ( even though I’m home) and have a ring camera! Then tell me I have to wait another day, spend 2 hours and 10.00 in gas to get my product anywhere CLOSE to the (5 day) delivery window.

UPS tracking and speed is FAR better in my location.

This a zZounds order ?
I'm waiting on a Zzounds order shipped with Fedex. It was supposed to come Sunday then Monday then today, Thursday. They have a new map feature that shows where the driver is. It showed the driver was about 10 miles away. That was at 11:00 am. Now, at 4:00 pm, the map shows the driver is about 40 miles away and heading for the barn, I assume. Tonight, I'll get an e-mail saying they tried to deliver the package but nobody was home and they will try again tomorrow.

Ebay tells you your package is coming in 10 days and it gets there in 3 to 4 days. SMH. Amazon is right 9+ times out of 10. Hell, even when Home Depot says one day delivery, it comes the next day.
