FedEx Nightmare Barefaced FOUND!!! Post 122

Oh my god it's over.

Yes it's been found and basically figured out partially by ME.

Ok I've been on the phone daily with scores of FedEx representatives over the last 4-5 days. There are teams of folks on two continents looking everywhere for this missing cabinet. About an hour ago my cell phone rings. UNKNOWN. NO NUMBER. they leave a voice mail. "This is FedEx we've been trying to deliver this package to you for three days. We have it here. The tracking number is ABC".
To remind you again I don't live at this location so I wouldn't know they were attempting to deliver it and why it was never routed to the office I requested I'll never know.

I look at my original package tracking number it's ABC. I immediately call the customer service rep assigned to the case and tell them. She says "well it was last scanned at an office near you. Let me try and call them" it took awhile cause they were obviously confused as well.

Turns out---- when FedEx has a two parcel shipment (not sure if that's just international) there are TWO tracking numbers assigned to the individual packages and they travel as a master and slave or mother and baby depending on who you talk to. In this case when it was received at the Super hub in Memphis whoever labeled them created TWO masters. So basically there were two ABC's and package XWZ never existed. It was under their noses the whole time THEY just couldn't figure it out.

They had no excuse from any source. At first the woman at the local office didn't believe me when I told her the tracking number on my original package. She said "that's impossible". They pretty much all apologized. I was at the local office (not the same one I picked up my original cabinet at for some reason) in about 7 minutes.

If it was only received and labeled properly when it hit the US all this could've been avoided. I feel extremely relieved to have both cabinets but at the same time feel very bad for everyone involved with this incident including Barefaced.

I've only got about 4 hours of play time on it but it's really starting to open up. I've read it takes about 6+ hours to really break in. It's pretty incredible that for the first time I'm really hearing every pluck, slap, strum or accidental bump I cause despite the other members ear bleeding thrashing. Yeah it really is all that. Can't wait to have some time to finish the initial break period. Hopefully this weekend at rehearsal.
Congrats on finally getting the lost cab! How are the lows and low mids as a single 8ohm 12? Do you feel that with the right amount of power sent to it, one of these would work as a stand alone on fairly loud gigs? Which amp are you using with them?

8ohm. This cab sounds even better than the first one I ran through this amp. It's getting a little late here and being respectful of my neighbors I'm only at low volume. Despite the low level
My lower body including my stomach is getting reverberated by this thing standing 4 feet away. I know how loud it can be however. I gave the first one a good workout. ITS LOUD. I can't wait to stack these two and run this Mesa @4ohms. My lord!!

And oh yes one cabinet is more than capable of handling just about any situation. The reason I wanted two is just to have the luxury of keeping one in both jam spaces.(two bands)
Also if I ever played an outdoor gig or a venue without PA support I could run both.

I'm pretty sure that the stack will be unbelievable!

Welcome to Earth, nothing works here. :(

Glad you got it solved.

If you specified sequential serial numbers on the front end of the deal, they need to make that right for you.

erm... no they don't. The numbers are unique for a reason.
You were right, the sender was responsible until it's delivered... but you've got to be sensible (serious?) about what this responsibility means

aaaaanyway, great news and glad the second cab arrived safely!

OP: I used to own a pair of BB2 as well and they're incredibly immense for such a compact rig, eh? Enjoy! :)

It pays to pick up your packages from their depot, instead of taking a whole day off from work to wait for them to screw up.
I agree. I had both BareFaced cabs (2x12 Big Twin II and 6x10) shipped to the FedEx office for pick up. It worked out well. The Big Twin II is now my main cab for almost every medium-sized venue. It even works well outside. The 6x10 I would reserve for festival-type outside gigs where there is an open space behind the audience. I have a Mesa Walkabout for small venues that works very well. I can't imagine needing any more gear; but I've said that before.
