FedEX

All of the complainers have no hint of a clue what it takes to deliver million of packages across the country every day.

We do.

Have you ever had a flight delayed or cancelled despite no weather issues at your location or destination?

It’s often the same root issue: network planning, scheduling, and infrastructure.

The solution to these problems usually has more to do with corporate HQ than in the trucks.

I experienced the same with USPS! I started the claim process and found out the driver was tired and it was late, so she just lied about the delivery, took my package home with her to deliver it the next day.

Now, I beginning to see personal, unmarked vehicles packed with packages to be delivered.

That is absurd lol!!!!
Thanks for this info! Fingers crossed UPS did something similar and it shows up.
I am obtaining camera footage from my building as a starting point...

LOL…

Yesterday FedEx Home Delivery said it would be delivered that day.

This morning it said it was on the truck for delivery.

Now: “Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve your tracking results at this time. Please try again later.”

No doubt, their tracking system is overwhelmed! I've seen delivery status go from "At Local Distribution Center" to "PENDING", then have someone drive up in their personal vehicle to deliver the package.

And then suddenly I get texts from FedEx…

I open my door, and there are two packages for me. One containing Big Chonks from Sweetwater.

And now we wait for everything to slowly warm up.

My brother drives for UPS. He works 6 days a week usually 10-12 hours a day. He deals with attack dogs, people with road rage, and a truck with no air conditioning. Yes he gets paid well, but it's a hard job.

Cut delivery drivers some slack!!!

Through all the years I've never had a problem with UPS. It's always FedEx that's the problem. That includes now when I have a package currently take a tour of the Southeastern U.S., even almost making a pit stop at my house. But now it's in another state for no reason at all, like I said in my previous post. Fortunately, it isn't a bass, only a CD. The last time FedEx delivered a bass was in January. They never leave it at the side like UPS does which is the most logical place to drop it off here. Instead, it got dumped in the bushes where I could barely even see it. I basically discovered it by accident.

We get threads here weekly, hating USPS, UPS, or FedEx, with some personal story.

Fact is, the number of packages being delivered has increased tremendously over the past few years. Add in the difficulties from COVID. If there were a way to do it better, they would.

@buldog5151bass my point here is that they should set reasonable expectations. If WE all know their shipping times are behind, and still use the services, we are willing to accept it. Just state the obvious, we won't be mad... maybe slightly relieved. Especially since we alter our schedules to be home during certain windows.

@Smooth_bass88 this isn't a slight against the drivers. I love the drivers on my route (UPS, USPS, and FedEX). I meet them at the end of the driveway to carry in the heavier items and know them on a first name basis. This is more about their scheduling.

Any of you who think they can do it better, start your own delivery service. You'll be rich...

there are ways to do it better, and they much more expensive as one demands quicker service!

i hear ya about the anecdotal shipper 'vent' threads. it will rise from weekly to daily for the next couple of months, i reckon.

No need to make more threads about this. These guys and gals are working their butts off especially this time of year and it’s only getting tougher. Cut them some slack? Same with the people working retail, at least they showed up for work.

@buldog5151bass see me previous reply :)

@Gustopher I agree.. I am not complaining about the workers, but the fact that they need to provide accurate delivery times. That's a corporate decision.

@gln1955 Actually, I do. In the 90's I worked on the software in their Memphis location...

A current update:
I ordered a Christmas gift for my wife. The company sent me an email on 12/15 that the item is being shipped on their free 3-7 days shipping.
I get an email from FedEx that the expected delivery date is 12/20.
I checked again on 12/20 and FedEx gives me 12/21.
I checked on 12/21 and the status is Pending! I stopped checking.
Today, 12/26, the package arrives.
I live in Fairburn Georgia. The gift shipped from Savannah Georgia, which is only 257 miles away!

11 days means your package traveled just over 23 miles per day, or one mile per hour.

A slow loris, gila monster, or koala bear would have made the trip faster.
