A current update:
I ordered a Christmas gift for my wife. The company sent me an email on 12/15 that the item is being shipped on their free 3-7 days shipping.
I get an email from FedEx that the expected delivery date is 12/20.
I checked again on 12/20 and FedEx gives me 12/21.
I checked on 12/21 and the status is Pending! I stopped checking.
Today, 12/26, the package arrives.
I live in Fairburn Georgia. The gift shipped from Savannah Georgia, which is only 257 miles away!

I've followed the routing on Fedex packages via their tracking updates. Lets just say the packages are well travelled by the time they get to their destination. They all seem to go through a hub in Kentucky? and sit there sometimes for days before they go anywhere.

UPS is no better. I called them a few weeks ago after I got an emails saying they delivered my 4 packages (worth $4k) only to have them confirm that they dropped at the wrong house. Fortunately it was only a block away. They didn't even offer to retrieve them. I drove there in a hurry in -20C whether before they went missing.
