How so?The USA Geddy runs circles around these vintage II’s. Don’t bother with it!
Hello Doc you could always get yourself another Peavey Foundation bass.
That would be mine for sale. Just when it arrived last week, I found the '74 I had been hunting down forever. Can't keep 2 around. The '66 arrived with so-so setup, but became a real killer after some adjustments and comparison with the real thing to get the right pickup height:There is a brand new white 66 of these models in the classifieds right now for $2K asking. Probably get it for a little less if you want one.

I am on board with that. I have 5 other J's, all exc, and this one has a shine of its own. Orig owner sold it to a dealer at a show and then I got it. I was always skeptical about the hype, until I found this bass. It works for me.
The bass Victor is playing in the Steps Ahead video is a Moon I believe. That's what he played after his 66 was stolen.
I think Sixties Jazzes have their own thing and I like it too. Daryl Jones and Victor Bailey played ‘66’s, and they sounded awfully good to me. Meshell Ndegecello and John Paul Jones sound pretty good too.
I’m just looking. Barring a miracle, I will not have a spare $2K for a new Jazz this year.![]()
They are drying up and they are not as cheap as they were. I would also need another one of those funky trussrod wrenches.
I just did a Reverb search and the prices are still ok. Maybe I do need to track down another trussrod wrench and call it a day.
Actually, you have heard of them. I bought one a year and a half ago and posted a NBD thread. This is the first I have heard of them.
Club Bass and Guitar in Toronto has a bunch of them (that's where mine came from). The price has gone up since I got mine but they're still cheaper than the Fender. You get a roasted maple neck, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, and the frets are PLEKed. And yes, very high quality.Check them out. Ed Friedland has been touring with them recently which is a pretty good endorsement. Vintage spec'd basses with some modern touches like roasted necks. The design is nice too with the bound necks and matching headstocks. Apparently they are very high quality but I have not yet tried them. I'm not sure how available they are where you are but they do have a shop here in Canada that I have been meaning to get to.
How so?

Looking a little more closely at the clip, it certainly looks like one, thanksThe bass Victor is playing in the Steps Ahead video is a Moon I believe. That's what he played after his 66 was stolen.
