obviously comes down to personal preference, but the USA Geddys are the best non-custom shop basses that I think Fender has made. Super good QC, the oil rubbed neck feels fantastic, and really solid feeling all around. The Vintage II's have that fake overly-yellow tint to the necks. They state they are U shape, but are actually very thin front to back. Also seems to be a lot of QC issues, especially with the neck pocket gap. Certainly not worth the $2k price tag they are offering. IMHO of course.
I seriously doubt the “QC” is any different between different series of instruments that are made in the same plant. The same people, the same CNC machines, I’ll bet the same program is being used to cut neck pockets. If the finish looks different, yeah, that’s something that is actually different, but Fender thrives on making things the same as much as possible - any factory does that as much as they can.
