Fender 2018 MIM Player Series

Some 13 hole pickguards dont 100% line up with the holes which means putting the screws in on a angle which can lift the pickguard up in places. The best thing to do is to do a google search for a 13 hole pickguard for a Fender Player Series Precision Bass.
I've never modded a p bass before. Can you tell me if there are any issues between the Mexican bass, and the fender replacement guards' pickup routing? I'd be surprised if the Mexican pickup is different size than the multitude of replacements out there, I might want to try a new pickup someday down the road

What replacement pick guard do you recommend that fits these 2017-18 players? I see that the official fender replacement guards are the same number of holes, and have a truss nut notch at the neck, but I don't know if they fit these MIMs. I started a thread, hope not too redundantly, hope someone in here knows. Thank you so kindly
I don’t see any reason to expect Fender to have changed them. They’re identical to Standards in every way except pickups and the headstock logo.

thanks for the clarification everyone. i'm confident in the information you guys have provided, and am satisfied that my question specifically about my above pictures and link has been answered, and that *yes* the two will fit, and with only the slight possibility that the screws may go in crookedly. i've decided that it's probably a close enough fit that im not worried about it, and would deal with any off-screw-angle if necessary

I replaced the stock pick-guard on my 2018 Player with one from ...

Ive swapped pickguards across MIA and MIM with zero problems many times. I actually have a stack of P pickguards, it’s like changing shirts. Black, white pearl, white, tort, and gold aluminium.

I think that depends on who you purchase it from. If you buy directly from Fender or an authorized dealer then you are not going to have any problems, but if you are looking to save money and go down the cheaper route, then problems can arise which I have experienced in the past.

Those problems will be apart from whether your bass is MIA or MIM, as the holes are in the same places for MIAs and MIMs. That’s one reason why they were both called “Standards.”

There are numerous companies selling pickguards whose holes do not line up. This means putting the screw in on a slight angle which can cause the pickguard to buckle and rise up from the body. There are plenty of videos on youtube addressing this issue , so be careful before you buy.

I understand what you are saying, what I’m saying is if one of these pickguards gives you a problem on a MIA it will give you the same problem on a MIM.
