Fender 2018 MIM Player Series

I also have a CiJ Precision with Fender Original pu, a Hofner 500/1 and a Danelectro Longhorn, all basses with tons of low end. The MIM Player Jazz, even if more loud than the ceramic pu Mexicos, hasn’t the character i usually look for. I hope the Custom Shop 60 pickups, mainly the neck one, could have that low sound (i.e. the John Paul Jones Jazz on “Good times bad times”).
Tidepool does render very differently on pics depending on lighting!

Update. I've been playing my Oly White P with both my bands for the last few months both in practice and at gigs. With my Markbass/Genz Benz rig. It plays great and sounds great. I have had several local bass players come up after gigs and mention the great tone it gets. And want to play it. The only issue is I may have a loose output jack connection or else I have a few bad 1/4" cords. Haven't figured this out yet....working on it...

Here is my spoon of tar: while looking for new bass I was considering these new Player series... However, all the Player basses (precision, jaz and jaguar) had unfinished fret ends: frets are cut and then these rough edges just covered with clear coat - great manwork savings! Unfortunately, this makes entire bass feel like unfinished product - all the pieces I've tried had that scratchy neck edge here and there - impossible to play as it is. Squier CV has better touch... IMHO
But I don't like the fact of getting new bass and start fixing it right at the door... I've ended up getting Classic 50s' Precision Bass.

As i already wrote, on my J Player the only flaw is on the nut (slots are not at the same distance), but frets are perfect. And sure not a bomb of sound, maybe i will replace the pickups.

Second rehearsal with my Jazz yesterday, and I cannot fault it. It’s an absolute pleasure to play, it sounds great in the band (sound is deep and really present) and it looks cool.
My SansAmp BDDI V2 does wonders enhancing the bass tone too (I only put the Blend knob at 12).

I'm sure it's been addressed in the thread before at some point, but would anyone tell me where you're getting your replacement pick guards from? I have a Player Jbass I'd like to change a few things on.

I had to send my original Jaguar pick guard away so it could be copied as I couldn't find anyone offering replacements in the UK but I would imagine the Jazz and Precision would just use standard Fender pick guards which are already widely available.
That's where I ended getting my current pickguard from as well. Not sure if you're interested in a genuine Fender part, but I found that I could search Amazon by the Fender part number with good success.
What color guard are you looking for?

I had to dress the fret ends on my last Classic 50’s. It’s kind of just something that happens irrespective of line and often isn’t really an indicator of poor quality so much as it is a result of climatic variations.
