fender 300- thoughts

I stopped in GC yesterday and was fooling around with a Fender 300.
That thing has a whole bunch of knobs on it.
I t seems to be a very loud amp but not a wide range of tones. I didn't think the $800 price was too out of line.
I think it does 2,4,and 8 ohms.

I had one, it's a very loud amp! gets great tube tone too! wish I hadn't sold it, but the offer was too good to refuse. It's quite heavy, but what tube amp isn't...

It doesn't get much better than the Bassman 300 pro. And you can't tell much about the tone sitting in GC.Was it new for $800?

Not a wide range of tones? Sounds like you may not have engaged the graphic EQ. Many, many tones. I'll be keeping my 300 Pro as long as I'm able to carry it.

No it was this head.
It's used but not a scratch on it.

S.O.Bov. was right..... IME it's a VERY versatile amp-heavy -yep! I use it in a Soul/funk band & a rock band & a Jazz band! Play around w/ EQ, Comp-2 band, Channel blends etc...
