Ok guys, here's a deal.
I'm about to buy either one of these basses - Fender American Standard Precision is 2008, black + maple in excellent condition & Fender 60th Anniversary Precision in trans ash blonde in excellent condition as well. Both of them are in different cities and I can't try them before buying(actually I could try 60th Anniversary P, it would be a store transfer via local dealer, 25% non-refundable; American Standard is on hold in a different city and a buddy of mine will pick it up next week). They costs exactly the same. I was basically 100% on American Standard - good year, one of my favourite colour combos, excellent condition, great price, but 60th Anniversary showed up and I now I'm here on Talkbass making this thread...I would definitely go for the 60th Anniversary, but the only drawback for me is nitro finish. I had a Road Worn Precision for 1.5 years and really liked how it aged, but at the same time I like spotless poly finished instruments. Is it's nitro the same as AVRIs? Because from what I've seen it's chipping just from looking at it... I have till the end of the day to decide on 60th Anniversary(it;s on hold till the end of the day), so HELP!
