Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass

Though I've had the bass a couple/few months, I didn't gig with it the first time till last night: THOMPSON HOWELL BAND 'Crazy Women' 42nd STREET 9 24 11 - YouTube
The jury's still out on mine. It's a beautiful bass, but I have 4 nice P's. Since I'm really attached to the other 3, if I end up selling one, it'll probably be this one. I keep flip-flopping on whether or not to sell it...
You have to play some gigs with this bass. I have the same feelings about any new gear until I play some more on it. The attachment comes with gigs.
Yeah, admittedly I've only played one gig with it, and it did great. Please don't misunderstand - it's a fine, beautiful bass. But I bought it on a GAS-fueled whim, even though I have 3 other P's that I really love. Since I don't really need all those P's, my reasoning is that if I do sell one, I'm not as "emotionally attached" to this one as I am the others.

That's what happened to me. I GASsed for this bass and really did LOVE it but alas I loved my 08 MIA better and sold it. Do I regret it? Only that I can't justify keeping it and getting the J I wanted.
Fletz and I have respectfully disagreed on this one (in the spirit of "to each his own" and "Your Mileage May Vary.") I never felt as ecstatic about my '08 MIA P after a gig as I did last weekend with the 60th.

For me personally, the neck on my 60th is the perfect P neck for me. But I can see how others would prefer the 08. Also, I now think my 60th is just the smallest shade lighter than my 08 was. However, and I am not sure about this, but I may have preferred the 08's body. Sleeker? Or maybe that's psychological because the 60th's chunkier look.

Actually I have to update my website. I've had the Geddy a long time. I got a Custom Shop Jazz. I like the Geddy. I used to love the neck but now find it too thin! The CS jazz is awesome.
I still love my original 60th anniversary USA P bass from a couple of years back...

I have an '08 and loved the 60th at the store and didn't get to compare them side by side, but I thought the 60th neck was very similar to the '08. It felt very comfortable to me.
Just curious, is there anything special about about the '08s as opposed to the current american standards?

because of the nitro finish, side input jack and the vintage sunburst. I tried to order these specs from the custom shop a while back and they said it had to be "master built" for $5k
so I figured the price was right. My last P-bass was from the 70's and the neck had yellowed. I just didnt like the bright maple in my hands, purely mental thing for me. I bought the bass from Guitar center when they had a 15% off sale which made it $1360, plus it had (as many guitar center in -tock guitars do...) a few dings so they gave me an addition $100 off, totalling $1260.00. The nitro tint cost me $200 at a local luthier, he sanded the neck down to the wood, (except for the logo, serial # and date stamps) nitro clear coated as a base, nitro tint, then more thin clear coats. Looks like an Eric jJhnson strat neck and goes real nice with the body. thats my story, love the bass, and will play it hard and let it relic naturally!
