Shoot, I will get one but I'm already looking past this one due to the neck. (Edit: I'm going to keeping practicing on this one several times a day and see if we can't become best friends. I love the Volume. I'd have to put on my x-light LaBella strings to determine final tonal qualities.) I'm a mere 2.54 cm's away from buying a BG-29.

I tried to tell you ... V2. Fast, small neck. Almost plays itself.

Thanks for the reminder and I do remember actually. OK. Next on the list. And it looks Sharp Too!
And, there is of course, the Ortega, which I should just get and be done. How does the neck compare to the V2?
I don't have my Ortega yet, (which I know along with the Sawtooth is going to have a wider neck) but I did own 2 different V2's that were returned as they had pretty major issues right out of the box. I can tell you that the neck on the V2 is very Fender electric Jazz Bass in shape/feel and quite narrow at the nut compared to most anything else. But it's short scale, so the fret spacing is a bit tighter than you might be use to. They were easy to play, but I just wasn't happy with the quality on the 2 samples I ended up with.

Wow, that's too bad. It looks like maybe I have been lucky.

The Ortega seems to have a wide neck. But it's a shallow profile. I have zero issues with it. Maybe ask StevenC56 around Wed or Thursday. Get his opinion. But I'm an ignorant, beginner bassist. I keep reading where this neck is "this or that" way and slow, while my inexperienced fingers fly all over the same fretboard. Leaving me wondering what people are speaking of. So i may not be the best info source.
I can only compare to the six I own ... the 20 or so I have played in stores ... and what my hands tell me. It's nice not knowing everything you pro bassists know! Without this knowledge, I can just play away and enjoy.

The first one had really low output on the E string when plugged in. Other than that it was fine. Fender said I'd have to take it to an authorized repair center. Adorama agreed to exchange, but the unit was on backorder. So about a month later they received one from Fender and shipped it to me. Not factory sealed. Stamped "inspected by Fender". Had a horrible case of fret sprout and several finish issues. Tried to do the large garbage bag humifier treatment for over a week for the fret sprout issue with no success. Back it went!

Oh, my hands like the short scale and fretting especially now that I'm trying to chord.. kills me on this jumbo until I'm up passed fret #12. I'd like a 28.6" ABG. I will never get used to this for my current/future needs. I think I'll pack her up and move on.
There's a non Fender I'll mention on the other forum.

Woah! I'd of been frustrated. The only thing I've ran into so far, is actions sometimes being stupid high, and truss rod adjustments. Guess I have been lucky.
