Now that's a driver! Too bad you can't get something like the Boss with all it's features and speakers of that caliber.

It's all about the budget. Manufacturers give designers a target, and a budget. In that budget is employee pay, vacation pay, insurance, electricity, water, air/heat, marketing, rent, insurance, etc. So a nice cube with high quality drivers and amplifier would need to MSRP at $900+

That's why my $2000 speakers sound like the big manufacturer's $10,000 speakers speakers do. Literally. Because I am using the same parts, except my crossovers can now use better parts also. Somewhere manufacturers save big money. And my cabinets can be properly braced and put together. No budget constraints from a boss

Making it really simple, would be to use an existing small combo setup, but build a nice enclosure for the new speaker. Because each driver has it's own airspace/loading requirements.
Just route the recesss for the existing parts. But you would most likely not have enough power from this. The factory speakers can't move a lot of air, so they use lower powered amplifiers.

So maybe just buy the Boss unit, and upgrade the drivers for a happy medium.

If you choose to build a DIY bass cab, I will help you all the way. It's really not difficult. That is unless you truly are all thumbs. No offense, but I've seen a few that should not be around power tools! But if you have basic skills, I have everything else you'd need to know, including resources.

Thanks. I'm actually quite handy, and my wife and I have been 95% DIY since before we were married in 1977. But at 66 years of age, sometimes the least stressful solution can be a calculated compromise taking all things into consideration.

Is it the width of the neck, or the thickness?
Yeah-I use to think it was wide necks that didn't feel right to me, but it was the thickness not the width.
Exactly!! This one sounds way better than the CB-60SCE I tried, but I liked the neck on that one. But I've got to give it a week or two. Amazon Prime free returns, so I'm not sweating bullets one way or another.
