Shallow profile is good for a Bass neck. Much more important than narrow IMHO. My Warwick is wide but thin and I got use to it in just a few weeks and fell in love. So I'm spoiled with "easy" cording (and I want to learn them now as I never did before; I'm thinking will sound lovely on an ABG, hence low action, perfect frets, thin neck, some natural volume, etc.)The Ortega seems to have a wide neck. But it's a shallow profile. I have zero issues with it. Maybe ask StevenC56 around Wed or Thursday. Get his opinion. But I'm an ignorant, beginner bassist. I keep reading where this neck is "this or that" way and slow, while my inexperienced fingers fly all over the same fretboard. Leaving me wondering what people are speaking of. So i may not be the best info source.
I can only compare to the six I own ... the 20 or so I have played in stores ... and what my hands tell me. It's nice not knowing everything you pro bassists know! Without this knowledge, I can just play away and enjoy.
And speaking of pros; I was pretty good before I wasn't. I've forgotten half of what I knew and all of what I didn't.

, but it certainly is amusing.
Always a good time when Cully forgets his meds!
Great entertainment for sure.
