I can only compare to the six I own ... the 20 or so I have played in stores ... and what my hands tell me. It's nice not knowing everything you pro bassists know! Without this knowledge, I can just play away and enjoy.

Shallow profile is good for a Bass neck. Much more important than narrow IMHO. My Warwick is wide but thin and I got use to it in just a few weeks and fell in love. So I'm spoiled with "easy" cording (and I want to learn them now as I never did before; I'm thinking will sound lovely on an ABG, hence low action, perfect frets, thin neck, some natural volume,etc.)
And speaking of pros; I was pretty good before I wasn't. I've forgotten half of what I knew and all of what I didn't.

More like I was just unlucky. I'm sure most of the V2 stock is just fine. As soon as I can get a good deal on the new Shaded Edge Burst model, I'm going to give one a go. If nothing else, I'll be able to join B-Mac's club!
