not sure what model you have but i put a badass 2 on mine no problem.dropped right in and no gaps.see photo end of page 1

Also, I really like flatwound strings on my other bass, does anyone use flats on the Aerodyne?

Not a great pic, but here's my Aerodyne. This was my first bass. Still have it but dont play it as much. Strung with DR Black Beauties. I use DR's on almost everything that I have that they make strings for.

I've considered selling it as I dont play it as much....but its such a nice bass. Needs a bridge. Bought a Babciz but sent it back because it didnt fit, I didnt want to take a router to the black laquer finish. Stock bridge is cheesey & the intonation adjusters wont stay put. Neck has a high gloss finish on the back which I dont care for as much. My carvin has a tung oil finish neck which plays like silk on a stick.

My Pickups are DiMarzio Split P and Ultra Jazz. Custom shielding work was done on the control cavity, pickup cavities and pickup signal wires.

Yeah, I realize i'm about the umpteenth person to post their Aerodyne with Black Beauties in response to MLB's query, but it seemed fitting, I just found your group.

I already had with my BAII, but yes, it mill make grounding easier and also make it sit more solidly on the bass.

Tried the Babicz on the Aerodyne a couople days ago... It came back off within an hour. That bridge just doesn't seem to be dense enough to not sound "airy" and seems to be lacking in the top and mids from the BA... And really isn't as good tonally as a Fender- But's that's all IMO

You can have club number 61 if you like. Or really any other number greater than 60, just specify

You mean a facebook group? I have a couple. All we would need would be an administrator to add people, but outside of that it would be an open forum.

I love the look of my Aerodyne but I am not liking the radius. I did not pay attention to the fact that it only had a 7 inch radius when I bought it. My Ibanez is 12 inches and my P bass is 9.5 inches. I know some bassists like a round radius and others like a flat radius. I definitely prefer a flat radius. To me, round is for guys that play lots of chords and flat is for the soloists that pump out one note at a time. As a bass player I tend more to the one note at a time, although I will agree that sometimes chords have their place. I love a low action and with a 12 inch radius my stings barely sit off of the fretboard. With my AJB though I have to have a high action to get my strings even. It is too pretty of a bass to sale but I hate just hanging it on the wall. We will see in the future if I change my mind but for now I keep reaching for my Ibanez.

I don't do many chords, but I still prefer a small radius on the fretboard (more curve). I am a lurker in this club, but discovering that the Aerodyne has a 7" radius didn't exactly diminish my GAS.

I do have a defretted vintage Ibanez Roadster that have a small radius, so Ibanez doesn't necessarily mean a flattened fretboard.

Dude: it's an Aerodyne! Saying you won't play it because the radius is off a couple degrees is like saying you won't love your wife because she's a few pounds overweight. Get over it and play that bass!
