Fender Aerodyne Club!

Which reminds me--a few of you have posted pictures or notes about new-to-you Aerodynes; let me know if you'd like a Club number!
(Not everyone does, some forum members just pop in to this thread for the discussion. So I'm only issuing them when requested.)
Hi Jeff. I've had my Aerodyne for a couple months now but I wasn't going to ask for a member number until I posted a pic of it. I'm gonna get off my butt and clean and polish it so it looks as good as possible. Then take a pic and post it. I think I'll do that now and take a pic. Stay tuned fearless leader :)

Looking forward to it!

Also, I'm more like a secretary. I just hand out numbers. We're all leaders in the Aerodyne Republic!

I'm still on the lookout for a knob. If you look close you'll see I'm missing the tone knob. Can anyone tell me where I can get one? I'd love an original Aerodyne knob.

Dude, that bass sizzles. Now I'm a little embarrassed about my dust rag cleaning job. :)

You are #164!

And I saw your earlier mention about the knob--I'm no help, but hopefully someone will know!

have any of you guys confirmed any replacement bridges with adjustable spacing that would fit inside the recess that some of the aerodyne jazzes have?
Recently, I had a "DIY/kit-bash brainstorm" about that issue, but I don't own an Aerodyne with a recessed bridge to try it out upon. I started wondering if that excess space could be filled by way of an index card that was trimmed to fit the recessed area. Once in place, use a slightly pointy implement…a pencil, toothpick or something similar…to pop small pilot holes for the bridge screws to work their way through. I mean, what is paper but pulped and compressed wood, right? :bookworm:

Anyway, it's just a little idea I had, so I thought I'd share it with all y'all. If someone tries it, please report your findings…pass or fail.

I suspect the discrepancy may not be a matter of "Export vs. Non-Export", but more a matter of "This-Year vs. That-Year".

...and most likely also a question of strings and pick up adjustment. I think mine is rather bassy an rather lacks in the high mids. As far as I know I habve a 2006 non-export model with pickguard.
