I'm a longtime fan of 32" scale. I'm 5'8" and can get along fine with full scale, but I like the medium scale. Everything is just a little closer, a little faster. I find that a 30" scale changes the tone, which can be ok depending on your genre. But the medium scale doesn't have that issue; it sounds and feels more like a full scale.
I also like the lighter weight body, since when I'm singing a heavy bass can affect good diaphragm control.
String gauge is important to getting a good tight sound.
Here are a full-size j bass, the AJB- M, and a 5 string Bacchus with a 33" scale.

Not really.....she’s my go to PJ every time all the time.
No problem. If you want to get a feel for it, capo your bass at the first fret, then tune down to standard tuning. It will give you a feel for the scale length and the fret distances.
I bought my Aerodyne a few months ago and I showed my friend who has a Kiesel guitar. The first thing he said when he saw the unmarked fretboard was "You need some of those glow in the dark side markers." Kiesels use Luminlay markers, and the ones on his guitar neck looked great, so I ordered them from Japan. I got the blue ones with black outlines.

Brought both my Aerodynes for tonights dancehall gig with an all female big band. Love them more every day. The hall was packed, even had a full size stuffed bear.
Hopefully the Aerodyne growled more than the bear?

I just bought a non-export Aerodyne Jazz - I'm keenly interested in replacing the pots, but they are a small split shaft that I'm not familiar with. Anyone know a good pot that will replace these, fit the nice chrome knobs, and also fit the cavity?
I have a 2018 Aerodyne Jazz. Either my hearing is going, or the tone knob isn’t really doing much. Does anybody else have this experience? Full on is not much different than full off. I hear a slight sweep when I turn it when a note is ringing out, but that’s it.
