Felix...I just noticed you put a tug bar on your PJ...Does it not interfere with slapping....or No slappa Da Bass for you?
I bought a Mexi P Deluxe body and transferred everything over from my white bass
It worked out perfect and is my lightest bass
and sounds absolutely Killer...Love those Yosemite pickups

I did! I don’t slap it so much and when I do I tend to do it close to the Jazz pick up... so no problem!
Man I really would like your thoughts on the caprice compared to the fender in the PJ config?
It is a shame he did not demo some other tones...like J backed off 20% for a P mixed with J tone that works well for slap and then mix down the tone knob a bit to taste .thumb mute.
Turn down the tone knob half way with Just the P pickup for a more vintage tone
turn it up and use the pick there for raw rock punk
I don't have a Fender PJ, I'm sorry. I'm still thinking about getting one, though. Having already the Performer J, I can't stop thinking that maybe it would be an overlap, I don't know. The pickups are exactly the same, the only difference would be the neck (P) pickup.
On the other hand, I like this series a lot and it's probably the more suited for my needs. They're relatively cheap, pickups sound great, they're very light and again, I like these Yosemite pickups a lot. I also like the Greasebucket tone pot.
I tried to evaluate other options (American Original P and American Professional P) but none of them check all the boxes for me.
About the Caprice, I think it's one of the best passive 4 string basses in the market. Like I said, I can't compare it with a Fender PJ but it's great. I'm actually selling mine because 1) I bought a StingRay Special which I use more often and 2) the neck profile isn't ideal for me, but I'm really picky about these things. It plays like butter.

Just finished putting on my modes to my Performer Jazz bass. As with the other offerings in this series, it sounds and plays great! The new bridge gives it a little tighter definition in the low end, it also doesn't weight a ton. It's also pleasing to the eye as it looks like it should be on there as it's not a massive chunk of metal.
