Fender American Performer Precision Bass- thoughts?

Seems we are up to the same thing. lol I have three of them and I'm switching them up for different looks etc. One question, is that a WD pickguard? Where did you get it? Ok that's two questions. lol

Not my experience at all...and I own two
The finish on my basses is top notch quality...But, I do notice a difference on my AMSTD Precision, which has a Thicker Poly coat.

Just remember folks...every instrument has a unique difference.
Some are lighter or heavier and some have more pleasing neck profiles to me.
Some seem better finished than others...as with all Fenders, you find the cherry that ticks all your boxes

I'm sorry ...I did not say..The Tort pickguards are all Fender I had to drill a new hole..Vintage series and 62 Precision with extra hole by tone pot

I've liked my P but always thought it could do better with a J pickup blended in from time to time. Having to play down the back of the guitar next to the bridge is hard work... Unfortunately Fender has never made a lefty with the PJ configuration, so I spent my money with a competitor. However, the MIM Precision Player is often discounted here to £500 and I could easily see myself slotting in a J pickup. It would probably cost another £500, but it would get it there...
