Totally different basses, but definitely Stingray. P-bass is, while it works in some music, probably one of the most boring basses I know. The only really cool P-bass-recording IMO have to be Forget Me Nots, other than that I think the sound is usually boring, and not too easy to work with in the studio either. Totally subjective of course.
 
+1000. It's one thing to ask which bass would be better for a given situation, but these generalized "which is better" threads really don't get anyone, including the OP, anywhere.
