Fender American Vintage '62 Precision

I bought one last week. It was used in like-new condition, and even though I had been shopping for a Jazz I thought it was too good a deal to pass up. Now that I've played it a bit, I know I was right. With flats and the two piece body under the sunburst finish there's really nothing else quite like it. I've played a couple of '57 reissues that really blew me away too.

I bought one and promptly sold it. I found that the G string wasn't well balanced (compared to the other strings) and it was getting on my nerves. No amount of tweaking seemed to do the trick. I'm much happier with the '62 Jazz reissue - perfect string-to-string balance.

Only just found this thread, so back to the tombs again! My first ever bass was an original 62 American P-Bass that I bought when it was around 6 months old.
Circumstances meant that I had to sell it less than a year later much to my regret.
I pined for that bass for decades, through Ricky 4001 stereo, Travis Bean, etc. I finally bought a 2005 AVRI 62 reissue which was as close to my original as anything I have played since. Love it! I currently use D`Addario ground wound/half wound strings on it which are the ideal compromise between round wounds and flats. Came with the original case & is in great condition. The guy who bought my original 62 had it stolen from him in (I think ) 1964, sadly. Never got it back.

I probably will spending the green on this bass also. I just wondering if the neck feels the same as the Road Worn 50s P-bass.
No. I bought a '62 Reissue in '94 or '95. Fantastic bass. I was very proud of that one. Great tone. BUT... I can't think of too many bass necks that feel as good as those Road Worns. IMO, a Road Worn neck on the '62 Reissue would be killer!!!
