Fender bass neck changes by year?

Hey guys,
Does anyone have a clear idea of what exact years Fender changed their neck widths for their bass line?

More specifically I'm looking for info on what year they first started building/offering Precision basses with B width necks (1 5/8") as their US standard replacing the C width (1 3/4").

"A" width- always 1-1/2". "B" always 1-5/8". "C" always 1-3/4. In general, C until early '68, B until '83, then back to C. The A width was on all Jazzes, and special order on P's until '70-ish, then P's were available A or B right up until '82. Roughly... ;-) There are rumours of a "D" at 1-3/4, but they're like Unicorns. Nobody has ever seen or owned one.... ;-)

And yes, a rare B could be found pre-'68, but we're talking normal Fender production.
