Fender bass strings, who likes them?

With having Fender strings on my MIA jazz bass I have to say I really like them. Have used Ernie Ball for years on my other bass. As Fender bass strings are in th same price range I am sticking with them in my bass.

What is your opinion of Fender bass strings?

Had a set that came on my US Jazz bass. They sounded great but I was wanting to get them off to put on my customary set of D'A nickels. I was waiting for them to die but they lasted me a solid month before I took them off because I was wanting to give my new bass a proper setup with new strings. The Fenders were still kicking and sounding good, so I'll probably give them another go once this second set of D'As dies.

Overall, I feel like Fender has been really stepping up their game across all channels of their business, and this is coming from someone who used to think Fender was only a "decent" brand.

I wouldn't be interested in using their standard nickel rounds, but I do love the 9050CL flats on my J.

Their CL-flats were for a long time my favourite string, and my second set is still on my main bass.
They really compliment a Fender Jazz-tone IMO! Like they were made for each othe- oh wait.

I've noticed that Fender strings are much more strongly attracted to pickups than any other strings I've used. When I am installing or removing them they immediately SNAP to the pickups when they are slack on the bass.

I love Fender Flats, after about 4-6 weeks of play time.
Back in the day I enjoyed their pure nickle as well.

I love the stock fender strings. They are cheap, last a long time and as long as players refuse to stick with them, they will stay cheap.

Their pure nickel round wounds sound great, and they also minimize finger noise.

I was a fan of their old Pure Nickels. I tried the newer made by D'addario ones as a beta tester when the switchover occurred and didn't like them as much, but that was almost 10 years ago. I may give them another shot if they're still around. I think their flats are ok, but nothing to write home about. I'm not a big fan of their regular nickel plated rounds. They're ok tone wise when new, but their feel is just "meh"...kind of stiff and the tone quickly turns into a generic, lazy kind of scoopy type thing, if that makes sense. I haven't tried their SS sets since they came stock on most of their their American made basses, which was also before the supplier switchover.

I have their flats on my fretless but am going to change them to Sunbeams for something different. I love the flats though, and might put them on a passive jazz.

I love the pure nickel 7150s and recently tried some new-ish flatwounds - they were a pleasant surprise - liked 'em a lot.

I've also used the 8250 5-string NPS tapered set and the 7350 NPS strings. Nothing wrong with them.

9120 tapewounds on my fretless and fretted P-clone. Smooth, warm, fat, last for years and are twenty bux a set.
