Fender Blacktop Club

Finally got to bust this bad boy out at practice last night (with my new Fender Rumble 1x12 cab). Man this thing growls like a monster. I know I should probably reign it in a tad, but... nah!

Also sounds particularly nasty with a ProCo Rat. Whew boy!

Love. It.

Cool! I haven't used mine live yet... So far my Thunderbirds have been stealing all the "thunder" live. :)

Just put a Blacktop P (pearl white w black pick guard) on layaway! I will let you guys know when I pick it up so I can grab a number :)

Went in set to get a regular P but fell in love with this one. Its preowned and the guy has black nylon tape wounds on it. I liked em. Never played em before but they seemed perfect for this bass.

Just bought all new pots and wiring for mine and gonna modify it with help from a buddy. Going to do one master volume, a master tone and a blend. When I replaced the pickguard, I must have messed up the ground on the bridge volume or it's a bit shoddy, so we decided to just rewire the thing how I'd like it.

My buddy and I [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] my Blacktop P last night (I hardly assisted). Took him a bit longer than we expected, but I hooked him up with a Steam gift card for helping me out. Turns out he knew what he was doing. I now have a single master volume, master tone and a blend. It's pretty fantastic. Dare I say it seems like it somehow has better tone, as well?

Did you change all the pots and the cab or did you keep em, and only exchange one vol pot for the blend pot?

P.S.: @THORRR Did you ever get a neck for your BT-body? Sorry I didn't get back to you about mine. The neck I was looking to replace it with was all scarred and scraped on the backside…kinda like playing up and down a highway shoulder's rumble strip. :***:

P.P.S.: @Rich McCoy I'll keep you on the roster, in case you end up getting a BT-P. I'm sure you'll let us know if you get one, right? ;)

Can anyone compare the sound of the Blacktop Jazz to the older Platinum BC Riches with the passive dual P p'ups?

I love the sound of my old Mockingbird, but its utterly unplayable due to dive, shape, and weight. If the Blacktop Jazz replicates the sound, I'd like to look closer at one.
