I have one in sunburst. MIM. I own and have owned many Fenders both good and bad including an original 75 jazz. This IMO is the finest example of that era bass. 4 bolt neck joint is better, I prefer alder also. The fit and finish is tight as a clams ass. It's gorgeous and sounds fantastic. A real steal. As for MIM; weren't the original Fenders made by mexican craftsman in Ca ? Frankly America has few craftsman left in any trade/industry, but most 3rd world countries still have Craftsman because they have industry and crafted goods. Thank you NAFTA!??!?! This is the nicest new Fender I've purchased ($800) and that includes my VB jazz at $2000. The cheap gigbag it comes w/ sucks big time so you'll need a case. BTW; I am a licensed Plumber/Electrician/HVAC/Carpenter/Instructor/Bassist who teaches the trades and has built a few instruments so I do know fit and finish when I see it.
