Great shot. Looks like you're having fun in a cool club. I've wanted one of these for some time. There was one in the classifieds here on TB in the 7+ lb range but didn't have the funds together when it was here. Enjoy!

The single coil tone is unique, not like a Jazz bass single coil, it has more mids. Sits really well in the mix, very punchy single poles under the strings. Good percussive bump (with flats) and quick note decay. Works great in my band, finds the right sonic real estate between the kick drum, two guitars and a pedal steel.

Actually, I live in Herndon, Virginia. I was born in Vacaville, CA, but moved to the East coast for work back in 1999. I do go back usually once a year. I have an Uncle in Culver City that I'm due to visit. Not sure how far away that is from your gigs, but I would come see a show if I was in the area.

Cool, yeah we play in LA too. For some reason I thought you were in OC. Hit me up when you're out this way!

@dmn808,...
thanks man,... that bass was hanging on the wall at my friends guitar shop since 2008. he offered me a great deal (dealer cost plus tax) on any remaining Fender CS stock. so i was laying out the cash for a Trans White 59 Relic P when something said, "try me before you buy"!
i turn around, see the Shell Pink Heavy Relic. while my receipt is being drawn up i plug that baby in and OMGGGG!!! the TW one was better looking, but the SP pretty much plays itself and is noticeably lighter in weight!
off to update my profile :thumbsup:

64 Daphne blue relic Jazz Bass, love it!!!
Had since new, around 4yrs now. Have not wanted another bass since.
I saw it here a couple of days ago, magnificent Jazz! Did it come with the headstock strap-button on, or did you install it?
