Anybody else swap out the heavy RSD bridge that Fender Custom Shop frequently uses? By swapping for an older steel USA deluxe bridge I reduced the weight from 9.3lbs to 8.9lbs.

Yes. Not sure how perceptible it is through an amp, but acoustically it makes a difference. Seems brighter, with a quicker attack. Using Pure Blues 45-105.
I was looking for RSD brigde for so long. In the end I ended up buying a bass with it. It is so rare and cool! Would You sell it?
The green 1960 P bass is beautiful. Wish they'd gone with a 34-inch scale instead of 25.5, though

The burgundy mist Jazz looks like a Guy Pratt signature bass, though Guy’s is a 1964. I might have to try to find one of those.

I like it too. Matching headstock is tasteful. Interesting color choices this year! Not seeing too many bursts.
That one has a 7.25” to 9.5” compound radius neck. I think I’d like that.

I’ve got a FCS Jazz relic with the typical raw wood on the back of the neck. I lightly buffed it with very fine grit sandpaper to smooth it out, but the first time my hand got sweaty, it got rough again. It rather annoys me but I don’t really feel like sanding it a again.
I thought I might swap my bass for a less-relic’d instrument, but when I checked Reverb I discovered thats not a viable option; virtually all the FCS Jazzes were that way.
How are you guys dealing with this? What’s your maintenance routine?

If that was a 1 5/8 and it had the 65/70 pickups, I'd be all over it. It reminds me of the Artisan Maple Burl. Obviously different woods.
