When I first got this fretless (neck date 7/30/82), I decided to have the neck repaired (Jaco style epoxy job)and use it as a "player", -now I've changed my mind and have decided to restore it.(somebody before me had the wisdom to 'relic'

this instrument). -I've been relentlessly searching for replacement pickups, I actually found a NOS pepperoni pickguard

(the original was reliced, they applied some kind of acid to the back in order to warp it, and for good measure took a dremmel tool and ground bits off the beveled edge) There are file marks on the back of the neck to simulate hand wear. The metal parts have had the acid treatment as well (I promptly disassembled the instrument and neutralized everything in baking soda) It's a shame because this one really seemed like a 'closet queen', before these animals got their paws on it. I do have the original case, no case candy or pickup covers though.
