Nice! Red bobbins on the bridge pickup? (Bit difficult to see in the pic.) Looks like it's red (bridge) and grey (neck), just like on my 1983 62 RI Jazz.

The neck date is 1/6/83. Yes one red bottomed pickup and one grey.

Hi - If anyone is after an original Fullerton reissue '57 P bass pickup I have one sitting in my spares box - get in touch if you are interested (From memory the connecting wire is no longer attached, and I'm not sure if the brass plate is there, however I certainly wont charge £200+ as is advertised on Reverb! Oh and I'm in the UK too).

Just grabbed this. Love the color, whatever it's called. It looks red in the pictures but it's a bit more tangerine colored in person.
Did they use black bobbin pickups as a OEM pickups in these from the factory? I'm guessing so, but if not, somebody slipped in a real 60's era pickup in this bass at some point.
I'm taking her to Kevin Brubaker to get a new nut put in and also a fret leveling or possibly a refret.

That bass looks more like an early Corona, logo-position, no (pivot)-holes for the ashtrays, I vote 1986-1989. Nice bass and fiesta is rare too.

The duckfoot cases were used until around 1989, aswell the pots (date is probably 137 82). Is the serial higher than V016/V017? Still an rare find.

That is realy early Corona. 1986-1987.
The 1987 serial numbers looks sometimes like a 3.

After having owned a dozen or so basses, there's two I will never part with - a '57 and '62 JV (Japanese Vintage) Precisions. Both of them top models with nitro lacquer, and American pickups (the same as in the Fullertons).
Anyway, I want to try some Fullertons as well, but I'm unsure of what I will think of the necks. I had a parts pass with a '57 RI neck for a while, and I've tried a few '62s and '57s in shops, and all of them had necks that were two big and chunky for me.
The JV's both have a 1.66'' (1 10.5/16) width at the nut, and are quite thin as well. 0.78 (12.5/16) at 1st fret and 0.94 (15/16) at 12th fret. The width of the Fullertons will probably not be a problem for me, as long as the necks are not any thicker than my JVs.
So does anyone have the measurements of their Fulletons necks (or a caliper and some free time)?

I was going back through this thread looking at all of the beautiful Fullerton reissues and saw this post. My 62/84 Jazz is from April and it has the more sculptured lower horn and 82/83 body contours with regard to the control plate. I saturated the photo a bit to make the contouring more obvious:
