Anyone here selling a ‘62 reissue Fullerton Precision or Jazz Bass? I’ve seen a few online but I’m afraid they seem pretty highly priced, IMO much too high for both the bass and this Covid-environment. Any leads would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all.

Patience. I was lucky and one came up locally on Craigslist. There is a lpb p bass out there but they are asking a bonkers price. So, patience and dillagently checking the usual outlets. Good luck!

Pardon my silly question, but is the neck on the 83 62 p bass reissue a poly or nitro finish? I know (90% sure) that the body is nitro, but the neck? It seems like the neck finish isnt as thin as I'd imagine. It's also gets that sticky feeling. Is that typical of these? I'm thinking of sanding it down.... Any reason to talk me out of this?

It’s nitro. Best thing to do would be to use fine steel wool or a scotch brite pad to degloss it. It will buff back out naturally over time so you can always redo it. I also have found that a good polish will help with a stickiness. If you play it outside and it’s humid and/or you start sweating on it the finish will be sticky no matter what but once you polish it, it goes back to being smooth again. It’s the rock n roll of nitro.

I usually do wipe the neck down with some fine steel wool after the neck gets sticky, so that was the plan. But it felt different than I had expected so I wanted to make sure I'm not ruining my new toy.

Thanks for the feedback!

Did all Fullerton era tweed cases have Fender badges attached behind the handle?
And, did the early 80s Precision Special Series come with tweed cases?.

I've had two Specials over the years and neither had them, but now I'm seeing ads for Specials that advertise "with original tweed case".
Are those the cases I'm thinking that DID NOT have Fender badges?

I think I'm loosing it now that I'm 50.
