Fender Jaguar Bass

Use a thick string set, it's too stiff. Use a thin string set, it's too sloppy.
I don't believe in Fender Jaguar bass, historically...
This one might be different since it's a DELUXE?
I know a big woman who plays a Jaguar bass and it looks really funny too.(in a not good way)

No white? Once again, good job Fender.
Good thing I got an OLY White in the last CIJ run.
And for that price, it had better be amazing, as in no hum from the active electronics.

I was very interested. Then I picked up a 5-string instead and got uninterested.
I still think they look seriously cool - give me a shout when Fender release a 35" 5-string version in Oly white with tort pickguard. I won't hold my breath.

I think they ditched the active pre amp on the newer ones. I have one with the active electronics...and i love it...the electronics are poorly done though. Are the new ones still made in Japan?
It still has the active/passive switch. Check the specs again under "Unique Features."
I'm not sure where it's made though.
I got the old hot rod red version and I love it so much that it has become my main bass.
About the issues with the electronics, you can all DIY it. I did all the shielding and even added a treble bleed/hi-pass filter mod to maximize the volume knob. It's dead quiet and sounds sweet and versatile.
It is not for everyone but it is for me. I love the cool features and I'm glad that Fender decided to bring it back.

Yeah, there are a couple of good fix strategies. I'm going to do it one of these days. I wish Fender had done it in the factory, but most basses have some kind of quirk I guess.
Meanwhile, I couldn't let go of it because it is a GREAT player and looks cool.
I also notice they are no longer matching headstocks (I think the first run had it on red and black, but not the white ones).
Went to see the Deftones recently and the new bass player had a rack of jaguars on stage with him. After hearing 2 notes I had to have one. Now all I need is 750,000 more watts of amplification and I think I can duplicate that tone
