Spied these on Instagram — Japan-made and allegedly soon available on the Fender site. Offered here strictly as a curiosity.

What will they think of next?
Hey, let's call them Aerodynes, even though they're not quite what most people think of when they think Aerodyne. That way, we can count on Aerodyne and Boxer fans buying them! [IMG]
I have to say I've never heard anyone call white and two-color-burst vibrant before!
Other than that, nice touch putting the white access plate on the green one. That's some heads-up thinking there.

Sherwood Green would have looked better IMO.

The burst looks like the Earl Slick bass that guitarfetish sells.

    What's Aerodyne about those?

No PJ, not even the cool knobs that come with the Aerodyne, and the hardware doesn't seem to have that matte chrome look. And no front jack.

Edit: just edited the post. Some negative comments about the bass, from my part. No need for that, in the thread.

I don’t get the whole ‘back to the BAD ‘80s’ vibe. I don’t dislike the white with matching headstock, tho, and generally CIJ quality is top shelf.

I can see flat-topped bound bodies and skinny Jazz neck widths.

    Wrong body shape, though.

Looks sexy, but I’m not one for matching paint on the headstock. I’ll never own another one, no matter how sweet it is

Might remember there were Aerodyne Ps offered around 2006 or so.

    These look very ho-hum.

I had one of the old Aerodyne P basses. Those were awesome in the looks department with the carved and bound maple top and trans finishes. Why not bring those back to the US market?

  13. Thx for posting, always cool to see new stuff. I'll keep an eye on'em in the local shops, just to get a feeler. I recently tried a Boxer and liked the sound but not the feel and ended buying a parts bass off the locals, with a P body but a J neck. Who knows, maybe this will feel and sound right for me. That 'burst is definitely talking to me, but I'm hearing whispers from the white one as well.

Believe they will be offered direct thru the Fender website but don’t hold me to that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates that look. Screams "CHEAP" to me, but that's because I'm old enough to remember when cheap instruments were the only ones that usually had this.
