Fender japan! Share the basses!!!!!

I love Fender Japan. The build quality is the most consistent of the factory groups. American and Mexican Fenders leap all over the place in terms of quality; you can get amazing Mexicans and garbage Americans, but Japanese, you know that they're going to be decent all the way through; very little variation instrument to instrument within the same model.

That said, they are kinda cheaper, in terms of the hardware used, so that's a downfall. But with a little extra cash, you can buy a cheap instrument and upgrade, say, the pickups or a switch, and have a very solid instrument for a fraction of the price.

And what's up with the different markings on the back of the necks? I've got 3 Jags and one says "Crafted In Japan" in fancy script on the base of the neck, and the other two say "MADE IN JAPAN" in block script. What the heck does that mean?

I just want to see how much it would be to import something
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]: just email them and get what you want. they also have an amazing used section.

The yen rate is down around 90 these days which is pretty awful. When I was living there in 1985 it was averaging 240 and it has been fairly steady around 110 until recently.

Shipping is usually $125-$150. But with the yen rate as it is it more like $177.

They just changed what they call them. I think because the electronics aren't necessarily from Japan. For example, the 75 re-issue has american pickups. That said,

I WAN'T ONE OF THOSE 75'S! NOW!!! I've been GAS free for years, but I need to get me a Miller Jazz or one of those re-issues asap.

Sharing Fender Japan basses? :D
