Fender La Cabronita Precision Bass

I work for a dealer and got the price sheet last week. $599 is street. I'd hoped to have them up today online but the web folk are pretty backed up.
I really dig the look of the tele p-basses, especially these cabronitas! My problem is that i don't like precision necks.
He's already answered but here is a clue for next time. Go to the Fender website and find the MSRP, $799.99 in this case. Notice that there are several older models priced very similarly. Now go to the Guitar Center website (or your online retailer of choice, probably one that prices in in your case) and note what the street price is on those models. Very likely the too-new-to-have-a-street-price-bass will be very close to the same. It rarely fails. Now I think that in many cases European prices include VAT, do they not? The prices you see from US retailers never include taxes. Our sales taxes are generally lower than your VAT but that does explain some of the difference and we get taxed in other ways besides. Our retail distribution network is brutally efficient, yours is a bit more old school with more middlemen who take a cut and your retailers may actually pay their staff a bit more, perhaps even enough so that finding a salesman who knows anything about anything is a common experience rather than an exception.

+1. I love the Precision sound, but ever since I put a J neck on my USA Precision, I don't think I'll ever play another P neck. Since that's not an option* with this one, I'll have to pass.
(*Yes, I know I could have a J neck with a Tele heel built, but if I were going to do that, I'd just build the whole thing.)
Yes, I know the procedure with the MSRP, but when I checked it it was so new that they did'n even have a Sugested Price.
About an hour ago I got to find prices, and it's 799 (599 street)
I think that should be like between 520 and 570 (VAT included). But it will take eons until they get here!
Buying through Musician's Friend is sales-tax free, right? I mean, for us customers. So what you see it's what you pay?
That's a complicated question. We have 50 states with 50 different laws and levels of enforcement. As well as 100's of resellers all doing it different ways. The simple answer is "yes" effectively and "no" legally.
Prices in Europe are mostly 1$ = 1€ ...
We shouldn't forget that most of us want to have support in the own country (and mother tongue) if something goes wrong! Also creating the website in mother tongue costs time (and money).
No advertisments in music magazines? Only on the website?
And no presentation on the "Musikmesse" because a stand is too expensive but only at the NAMM?

Well, luckyly Fender, Orange, Epiphone and some other biggies have a stand this year and are supposed to bring some new cool stuff. It would be very disappointing if they don't bring "La Cabronita" though.
I will try to record some clips with my cellphone (I'm bringing an iPhone with amplitube and iRig with me). It's not optimal but it's something.
About the other stuff, I feel you man, that's Scheiße!

I really like look of these. Were you guys that have seen them saying that they have chunky neck profiles and no forearm contors (like a '51 style?)
I like the color on the red one. I'm a humbucker guy for the most part so the filtertron style pickup would be a selling point. I just wish Fender would offer a neck with a rosewood fretboard on this style of bass. Don't like maple fretboards.
It looks like that odd experiment of basses called "La Cabronita" it's getting a mass produced item.
I don't really know if that's a good thing (I've never played a Custom Shop "Cabronita") but it has definitively gotten me curious about it.
I hope I can catch one at the Musikmesse this Saturday, and I'll post my impressions.

I'd buy one if it wasn't a slab and had a P pickup. that pickguard is pretty.
It isn't a slab, apparently; the Fender sites says that the body is contoured for the forearm
