I just imagined a La Cab jazz with dual Fendertron pickups, Tele style control plate, no pickguard, and it made me very happy.

Fender La Cabronita Precision Bass

Well, I will let you know how mine turns out, as I am doing this...with the exception of the bridge coil being an alumitone-J. and the neck pup being a TV Jones, and there being a very stylized, almost mini-T-bird style pickguard that is going to mesh with the Tele-style control plate.
I have the body and neck, and just yesterday CAD-ed up the control plate. Small world.
I love all the cabro style guitars (fender and other) and I would love try one of these out. I hope one of my local shops gets some!
I dunno, with no pickguard as shown, it kinda looks, body-wise, like just about any 80's era Charvel.
I had a similar idea except going for full cabronita style - pickguard and no control plate.
I guess we're in the minority, Mark. The looks of it are not at all drool-worthy to me. But that's why variety is such a good thing. What doesn't do it for me DOES do it for many others. C'est la vie...

I think the Mexican Cabronita bass is the "bass version" of the Cabronita Tele (why I can't understand Fender called it Precision).
What should be different?
KISS ... Keep it short and simple.
This was the motto of the Cabronita Tele and it's the same with the bass. Same pickguard and PU stile. Even a similar HighMass bridge to the Cabrotina Porrazo CS bass ...
The 41.3 mm saddle is at least between the Telecaster 45 mm and the 38 mm Jazz Bass ...
Okay; I would like a Blond ("White Blonde") version - but live ain't a wishing well ...

First of all: are there any holes under the pickguard?
If not, buy a sunburst version, deinstall the pickguard, install an old style precision bridge (2 strings per saddle) with string through holes - and I'd love it.

Yep, it's their answer to the Badass. I think it first appeared on the much maligned Reverse Jag.
There was also a CS La Cab-something that looked like the Reverse Jag and it had a pickup like this bass, but it was a gazillion dollars.
It's funny when these threads happen because all of the past week's thread subjects start to turn up.
Is there a hole under the pickguard? As a fellow Fender owner, I totally get this. Years from now, future generations will probably look at that hole the way we look at dogs of the late 70's/early 80's. Models with the hole will end up being worth more (hey, a guy can dream, right?)
Seriously, though, this Cabronita model is gonna end up in my living room sooner or later. There isn't really anything about it that I don't like.
And the price being more in line with what it is (and NOT $4000) makes it even more enticing.

I assume you mean a European site, the price was up on the US site fairly early yesterday. Whenever I want to find out something about a VW I go to the the German site. It is heartbreaking because I will learn about tons of things we never see over here, but the German site always knows things first.
As someone said, tax laws here are complex. At first the internet was tax free, these days you generally pay your state taxes if the company you buy from has a physical presence in your state. Guitar Center has stores in Illinois where I live. Guitar Center owns Musician's Friend. I don't know if I pay Illinois taxes if I buy from MF, I certainly do when I buy from GC. However, wait a few years and it will become real simple: your state will charge you sales tax on everything, no matter where you buy. As it is, when I travel outside of Illinois I am supposed to keep track of all my purchases, calculate how much the Illinois sales tax would have been, subtract off the sales tax in the state where I bought the items, and remit the difference to Illinois! Sounds like a joke but I kid you not, that is what I am supposed to do....

The nut appears to be in between Jazz and P width. I briefly looked at a few Js and Ps on the Fender USA site and didn't see another bass with that width.
Keep in mind I'm not the brightest bulb.
