Fender Mellostang bass

How about a "will power" (model 1 with wider spacing)? :eyebrow:
I've actually pondered it, to tell you the truth, but I would really have no use for it. The tone is absolutely perfect as is, in my opinion... also, I was never really a fan of bridge pickups.
Plus, that control cavity is packed to absolute maximum capacity. I've got a stacked pot, a push/pull pot, the mini toggle, and the input -- all in a cavity that was only really big enough for two pots and the input :D

But see.. us aesthetic freaks are crying over it not being symmetrical. :D

I loved the original look...but I will admit that I don't like this at all,. Looks to me like a rather horrible kludge. When one pickup is excellent, IMO two are not necessarily better.

I'm sorry I saw the "after" pics. Nice bass wrecked as far as I'm concerned.

But - it's your bass, not mine. Enjoy.

gotroot, we were in several different bands all through high school, but now that we both work and are in college, our schedules sadly don't match up enough anymore :(
glad you like it though!

gobbass, exactly what we were going for! :D

pilgrim, I totally respect your opinion and thank you for acknowledging my right to pimp my bass anyway i see fit. also, I will say that I did slightly prefer the plain dark star look to the way it looks now, but it's the sound that makes it all worth it!!! in my book looks take the back burner to sound and playability.
