I have a question for you guys. I previously owned a Mustang PJ and it had neck-dive. That was the main reason I sold it (although I loved the tone and looks). Are all Mustangs about the same when it comes the neck-dive, or the different models have different severity of it, and some have none? If so, which model(s) have no neck-dive at all?

My MIM PJ doesn’t dive with a good leather strap.

Ok I can't stand it. Ths is the third time I have seen this and it is driving me crazy.
On Reveb is a 1969 Fender Mustang Bass in competition orange with racing stripe. It is in extremely good condition.
Unfortunately I just acquired my 1969 bass that I have drooled, dreamed, and wanted for 50 years so this one is a no go for me. They are asking $3900 for it so they know what they have. From the pictures it appears to be worth every penny.
So you vintage collectors there is one out there.
I got mine now you can get yours. I hope I am not breaking any rules with this. Just answering the question "Is there anymore out there?"

I had a ‘68. Sold it in ‘83. Stupid, but I needed money for grad school. It was a nice bass. But not that nice that I’ll ever acquire one. Prices for them are crazy.

I’m not sure what the price would be shipped to US, I suspect shipping would blow away the saving on the case....

After I get around to putting some Ultralites on a more seriously divey SG bass I have, I might look into lightweight tuners for the Mustang

It's the American Performer, made in the US, feels like it's built better, better finish, smoother, doesn't have the 3 way switch, which I generally detest on any guitar. It's a higher quality Fender than the Mexican PJ.

It's got a Mustang pickup too, instead of the precision.
The P/J has more mod options, but I prefer the look and sound of the Mustang pickup.
Both have that J thrown into the mix.
I haven't tried the American Performer Mustang, but it sure looks nice.

Do you get enough bottom end with this Mustang Bass ?. I have just ordered one as my hands can't take a full scale anymore and wondered how you find it. I am thinking about changing strings to 105 to 50.

My old band always complained about my CIJ Mustang not having any bottom end. I ran it through my Sansamp and they never complained again.

My MIJ has less beef in its bottom end than a Precision (while still being in the P territory), but it sounds good in a mix (I’m playing classic rock, folk, blues, psychedelic garage rock, etc.). I’ve certainly never had anyone complain about the sound, but there are times when I hear it (the less thick sound than a Precision) when we first start off and then within minutes (seconds?) I never think about it again as everything sounds good and the bass is so fun to play.

Basically, it’s not exactly a Precision tone
