They made a good few colours for the Japan domestic market. I've seen a 'Competition Burgundy' CIJ reissue.
Thanks - I’ve actually got a set of HB6s right here that are going to go on my SG Bass. They were the HB6 w/the cloverleaf shape. I see they now have lollipop ones too which look cool.

Have you tried a Vintera yet or read anything about them ?. I can't seem to find anything on them and am interested in getting one too.I'm considering my modded out PJ and getting a Vintera. I own a P and a J bass so I just need a Mustang to be a Mustang!

View attachment 3610508 Hey there! I just picked up this sweet, dark-hearted little goth baby this weekend and absolutely love it. May I have a number please?
BTW, these are on sale on MF right now for $599. I picked this one up at my local GC and used the MF website to get a price match. I couldn’t be happier. Next stop, pick up a Rumble Stage.
I agree it sounds fantastic, lots of growl! At one time I owned a 77 MusicMaster and PawnShop Mustang and this one sounds better than both put together. I also have a couple Squier Jaguar VMSS basses which I love too but this one is my favorite. I think the only mod I will do is replace the silver pick guard screws with black ones. Cheers on your new bass!Congrats, I did the same thing with the price match a couple of weeks ago. I've had several Mustangs in the past and the black with ebony fingerboard is the best sounding one I've ever had. I want to get a black control plate and other parts to complete the effect.

oh my god! SAME! LolHAH I used to have one of those MusicMasters! In retrospect I never should have sold it but at the time, who knew?

Hey! I just did a doubletake. Check out my avatar, almost went to my music cave to make sure my baby hadn't wandered off. LOL enjoy yours. Can I ask if there is a consensus on a good semi-rigid gig bag for a Mustang bass? I just acquired a lovely '71 competition stripe (pic below) and need something protective but not a full flightcase or hard case. Thank you

Been asking the same question myself. The case my vintera came in isn’t great, especially being a full size bass case.
I think... the mono guitar sleeve will be a decent fit. Heard it mentioned a few times and if you see a pic of it with something like a stray in there, there’s a nice bit of room left above the headstock. Will look try one at some point.
