@Cran you are #87! Fine looking sunburst - especially with that pretty white pick guard. Welcome to the corral!

I would have say that if I had waited the 6 months for the performer to be available there would have been no question the performer hands down. It would have been the sum of all parts. On the PJ the P pickup was iffy the J pickup almost non existant and the 3 way switch, well we all know that story. The Performer I tried out, granted the stock pickups are not Quarter Pounds but they are a darn good set. It seemed an attempt had been made to balance the instrument, the bridge actually worked and I would still have replace the tuners because of their size but I could work them. And the best of all the I tested did not have a "Mint" pickguard. The whole darn thing was baby throw up green. My daughters send of humor. There was actually no comparison between the two. You could tell Fender worked very hard on that series. But all in all with the amount of labor that was put into that PJ it is a fine little bass. Now! I have decided to keep it and work with the gentleman who made the offer to have his own labor of love. So if I had just waited the few months we would not be having this discussion. One of most positive aspect about this was the education and experience I received.

I got my Mustang P/J recently. Tried a couple of display ones previously, thought they were OK, not more, but was pleasantly surprised by this. Better tone, fit, finish and playability than what I had seen. Used it at band practice this week.

Also, good balance between J and P, switch works correctly. It hums a little, though. Not much.
Almost up there with the JMJ, which is a really good instrument.

Could I have a number, please?

Hi all,

Has anyone bought a replacement pearloid guard for their JMJ?

Recently bought a JMJ-signed JMJ Mustang, but I’d like to switch it out so the signature stays minty.

Incredibly awesome bass though.

Fully understand, I went for the AP in the exact same colour; the burst looks great in the flesh, doesn’t it!

Absolutely! Funnily enough, I was going to go for the satin green one, until I saw they had sold out on the website. Then I decided to get myself used to one of the other colours, and fell in love with the sunburst.

Now, what’s funny was that when i showed up they had the surf green one sitting right there! That’s the one I A/Bed against the JMJ (another beautiful bass, loved the neck..!), but I still asked for them to bring the sunburst one from the warehouse. When I saw it, I just knew that that was the bass I was taking home. It also has this beautiful reddish-purple slab of rosewood instead of the very dark one on the SG.

I’m trying to play it as much as I can, even though that may be very little as I’m still on holiday... I enjoy every second of it!

Well, the Mustang is gone. She just wasn't getting any love after I got my P Bass and I needed the cash, so I sold her to my friend to give his daughter for Christmas, so it's staying in the family. She's an awesome girl who recently got the bug, so hopefully we'll be seeing her around these parts soon. It was great hanging out with y'all. Take care and Happy Holidays!
