I recently read on this forum that they also changed the pickups, but that's the only post where I've read that. I can't verify it.
Think they changed to Pau Ferro in 2017.I think they went from Rosewood fretboards to Pau Ferro on the players.
The PJ Mustang has always had Alnico 5 pickups.I know that most Player basses - at least Precisions - come with alnico pickups, I believe that it was ceramic before. Whether Mustangs are the same, I don't know, but I'd imagine they'd be consistent across the line? But who knows.

Heck yeah, and welcome to the corral!
Snappy looking Mustang! Love the racing stripe....
You are #111, @SuperK !
Can you dig out and dust off a number in readiness for me please?
Have a black JMJ being delivered tomorrow![]()
I am so happy. She is so beautiful.
Can I get a number please?
I have no idea why some of these are sideways, but I figured a few updated shots of my mustang with the new bridge installed. Intonation is very close, so I (a dummy) am kind of surprised I did so good, haha. She's got some battle wounds from a previous owner, but I'm prepared to give her her forever home. <3
